About The Position

Restaurant Supervisor (AM & PM) Baker’s Bar & Grille – DoubleTree by Hilton | Downtown South Bend The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, located in the heart of downtown South Bend, is seeking Restaurant Supervisors to join our Baker’s Bar & Grille team. AM and PM positions are available, with both full-time and part-time opportunities. Pay: $10–$12 per hour plus tips, based on experience. Position Summary Our Restaurant Supervisors play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional dining experiences. This position supports restaurant operations by supervising staff, maintaining service standards, and ensuring guest satisfaction during assigned shifts. Supervisors lead by example, foster teamwork, and help create an environment that keeps guests coming back again and again.

Requirements

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of dining room operations, service standards, and guest relations.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 5 hours).
  • Ability to lift and carry trays weighing up to 20–25 pounds.
  • Must be able to communicate in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Must be able to obtain an Indiana Alcohol Serving Permit.
  • Must obtain Safe Food Handling Certification.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings (AM) OR evenings.
  • Weekends and holidays you are expected to be available for work.
  • This position supports a 24/7 operation, and availability across various shifts is required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support front-of-house staff during AM or PM shifts.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily specials, service goals, and expectations.
  • Welcome and engage guests to ensure a warm, friendly dining experience.
  • Assist servers as needed during peak service times.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and timeliness of service.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensure staff adherence to service standards, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Handle cash, credit card transactions, and assist with shift reconciliation as needed.
  • Assign side work and ensure opening and closing duties are completed.
  • Maintain clean, organized service and dining areas.
  • Assist with training and coaching new team members.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Step in to serve guests when necessary to support the team.
  • Be flexible to fill in as needed to ensure efficient restaurant operations.
  • Carry out additional duties as directed by the Restaurant Manager or immediate supervisor.
