About The Position

Join the opening team of our exciting new restaurant! We're looking for upbeat, guest-focused Servers who are passionate about great food, great drinks, and creating memorable experiences. As a Server, you'll deliver food and beverages efficiently while engaging with guests to ensure every visit is warm, welcoming, and unforgettable. This is a great opportunity to be part of something new from the very beginning. AM shift is typically ~6am-2pm.

Requirements

  • Strong Problem-solving and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Communication skills, written or verbal, in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math
  • Ability to navigate necessary software and applications.
  • Ability to comply with local laws regarding food handling or serving of alcohol, including the ability to take and pass the ServSafe Alcohol Safety class and exam.
  • Knowledge of table service standards and appropriate table settings and service ware, as well as knowledge of all menu items and methods of preparation.
  • Ability to engage with guests and colleagues.
  • A high school or equivalent education is preferred.
  • Minimum of six months of prior food service experience is preferred.
  • Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
  • Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Crowne Plaza Lansing rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the Hotel’s facilities. Associates who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including, separation.

Responsibilities

  • Take guest orders and serve food and beverages using established Hotel standards.
  • Complete all IHG and Hotel training.
  • Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease.
  • Check identification of guests appearing to be under 40 years of age.
  • Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests.
  • Clean and maintain workspace.
  • Perform pre- and post- shift duties; such as cleaning and stocking.
  • Clean and maintain workspace including tables, walls, windows, floors, and in-room dining carts.
  • Engage with guests and colleagues using D.A.R.E. to Connect behaviors.
  • Follow hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any safety/service incident to the Restaurant Manager or the Person In Charge (PIC).
  • Additional duties as necessary and assigned.
