About The Position

The Restaurant Server role involves serving food and beverages to guests in a courteous and friendly manner, adhering to established brand/hotel guest service and sustainability standards. Key responsibilities include taking food and beverage orders, accurately placing them in the point of service system, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction. The server is also responsible for setting and clearing tables, stocking service stations with necessary items like ice, napkins, and straws, and picking up orders from food preparation areas while ensuring proper preparation. The position requires preparing guest checks and completing payment transactions. Additionally, the server may be required to perform other food and beverage functions, such as bartending and bussing, during staff shortages or peak periods. The role emphasizes awareness of guest satisfaction scores and actively working to improve departmental and overall guest satisfaction. Adherence to sustainability guidelines (HHM’s EarthView program), safe work habits, protective safety equipment usage, and compliance with MSDS and OSHA standards are also essential.

Requirements

  • Previous food and beverage experience required or equivalent training.
  • Knowledge of POS systems.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • TIPS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take food and beverage orders and place orders in the point of service system.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Set and clear tables in dining areas.
  • Stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins, or straws.
  • Pick up orders from food preparation areas and ensure food is prepared accordingly.
  • Prepare guest check and if appropriate complete payment transaction.
  • Perform other food and beverage functions such as bartending and bussing in the event of staff staffing shortages or peak periods.
  • Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
