About The Position

The Restaurant Outlet Bartender at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is responsible for mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of the bar. This role involves providing quality products, excellent service, and a friendly atmosphere for all customers. The bartender will greet and serve customers at the bar and at tables, operate the MICROS computer system, and complete accurate closing shift reports and daily deposit drops. Additionally, the bartender will maintain cleanliness and sanitation in their work area, monitor intoxication levels, and assist other outlet employees as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous serving experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age, as required by law
  • TIPS certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality products, excellent service and a friendly atmosphere for all customers
  • Greet and serve customers both at bar and at tables
  • Operate MICROS computer system and complete accurate closing shift reports and daily deposit drops
  • Make alcoholic drinks according to resort recipes for servers
  • Maintain Resort issued bank for cashiering
  • Cashier for servers and guests
  • Check all stations and supplies for cleanliness and sanitation
  • Answer telephone according to training guide, receive reservations and post in reservation book
  • Keep accurate accountability of waste and spills daily
  • Act as a lead when supervisor is not present and monitor intoxication levels
  • Converse with customers and report any complaints to manager
  • Help outlet employees if needed, reset tables, fold napkins, complete side work and end of shift work
  • Check computer systems for paper each shift
  • Maintain proper sanitation, safety procedures and cleanliness in work area
  • Follow all policies and procedures outlined by Manager and the employee handbook
  • Act as an extension of the security department in protecting the assets of the hotel and all guests
  • Assume all responsibilities as delegated by the Manager
  • Be knowledgeable of products and quantities, report supply needs to manager
  • Maintain a high standard of sanitation and safety
  • Attend meetings and complete online training
  • Complete all assignments requested of you
  • Keep waste and spoilage to a minimum by proper rotation, storage, and usage of all food items
  • Follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook
  • Understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
  • Other duties as assigned
