About The Position

The position involves overseeing daily restaurant operations, including Restaurants/Bars and Room Service, if applicable. The role includes assisting with menu planning, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting servers and hosts during peak meal periods. The goal is to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance in the areas of responsibility. The candidate will determine training needs to accomplish these goals and implement a plan accordingly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
  • OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages employees and all day-to-day operations.
  • Maintains service and sanitation standards in restaurant, bar/lounge, and room service areas.
  • Reviews staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence others.
  • Encourages mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
  • Identifies developmental needs of others and provides coaching and mentoring.
  • Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize and organize work.
  • Ensures and maintains productivity levels of employees.
  • Provides leadership and direction to prioritize departmental goals.
  • Ensures compliance with food & beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitors alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Implements corrective actions to improve service results.
  • Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including performance standards.
  • Identifies educational needs and develops training programs.
  • Strives to improve employee retention and satisfaction.
