About The Position

The Restaurant Kitchen Equipment Service Technician at Whataburger is responsible for repairing and maintaining restaurant kitchen equipment to ensure optimal performance. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and managing work orders to meet service level agreements. The technician will work in a supportive environment with opportunities for career advancement and ongoing training.

Requirements

  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification I, II (required)
  • Environmental Universal Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification or CFC Certification
  • HVAC State Certified License
  • Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA) Certification
  • Trade school graduate with diploma in commercial HVAC/refrigeration
  • 2+ years' experience in commercial kitchen equipment repair
  • 2+ years' experience as HVAC Technician, Commercial Refrigeration Technician and/or Maintenance Service Technician
  • Valid driver's license with liability insurance, a good driving record, and a satisfactory background check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all Whataburger equipment, including refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), cooking, and beverage equipment.
  • Installs new equipment as needed in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Maintains parts inventory.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment, rooftop units, and ice makers.
  • Manages work orders to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA) and maximize customer service.
  • Reports on work schedule and equipment repair statuses.
  • Engages with third-party vendors and reviews/approves their work.
