About The Position
Be the first impression of excellence at Harrimans Grill, the signature Forbes Five-Star restaurant at Salamander Middleburg. We are seeking a polished, friendly, and service-driven Host/Hostess who takes pride in creating exceptional guest arrivals and setting the tone for a refined dining experience. Harrimans Grill is known for refined seasonal cuisine, exceptional service standards, and an elegant fine-dining atmosphere. Our team is committed to delivering anticipatory service and maintaining the Forbes Five-Star standards that distinguish Salamander Middleburg as one of the country’s premier luxury resorts. The Restaurant Host/Hostess is responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations, coordinating seating, and maintaining the smooth flow of the dining room. This role is critical in ensuring every guest feels valued from arrival through departure.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous host, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional presence and positive attitude
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain composed in a fast-paced luxury environment
- Full-time availability including AM & PM shifts, weekends, and holidays
Nice To Haves
- Fine dining or luxury restaurant experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
- Manage reservations and seating flow to maximize service efficiency
- Coordinate table assignments with restaurant leadership
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional host stand
- Escort guests to tables while providing a gracious introduction to the restaurant
- Communicate effectively with servers and leadership regarding table status
- Assist with guest requests and minor service recovery needs
- Support restaurant operations with light side work when necessary
- Thank guests sincerely and invite them to return
- Uphold Forbes Five-Star service standards in all interactions
