The position is for a General Manager in an upscale or fine dining establishment. The role involves adhering to company standards and service levels to increase sales while minimizing costs related to food, beverage, supplies, utilities, and labor. The General Manager is responsible for ensuring that all financial and personnel-related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time, in accordance with company policies and procedures. Maintaining a professional restaurant image, ensuring cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards are also key responsibilities. The General Manager must ensure positive guest service, investigate and respond to complaints, and manage shifts that include daily decision-making, scheduling, and planning while ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service. Additionally, the role involves providing direction to employees regarding operations and procedural issues, developing employees through ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations, and conducting performance reviews.

  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs.
  • Ensure all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas and respond to complaints to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
  • Manage shifts including daily decision making, scheduling, and planning while ensuring high quality of food preparation and service.
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operations and procedural issues, and develop employees by providing ongoing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  • At least 3 years General Manager experience in an upscale / fine dining establishment.
  • Additional experience in Regional or multi-unit management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of front and back of house operations including food, beverages, staff supervision, inventory, food safety, service techniques, and guest interaction.
  • Strong understanding of cost and labor systems that lead to restaurant profitability.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills combined with advanced computer and math skills.
