About The Position

General Manager - Gjelina NYC Salary Range: $ 95,000.00 to $ 115,000.00 per year (DOE and state) Gjelina NYC is seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven General Manager to lead our high-energy, ingredient-focused restaurant in the heart of NoHo. ABOUT THE ROLE The General Manager serves as the operational and cultural leader of the restaurant-guiding Floor Managers and front-of-house teams, driving financial success, and upholding Gjelina's core values of consistency and hospitality. You will partner closely with the Director of Operations and Executive Chef to set goals, maintain standards, and create an environment where both guests and team members feel seen, supported, and valued. This role is highly collaborative, deeply operational, and rooted in leadership with empathy and clarity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of management experience in a high-volume, high-energy, upscale environment.
  • A hospitality-driven leader who excels at coaching, motivating, and developing teams.
  • Strong operational background: scheduling, inventory, labor systems, payroll, budgeting, P&L analysis, COGS control, and forecasting.
  • Deep hospitality instincts-with the ability to stay calm, clear, and focused under pressure.
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge, with the ability to train others on menus, ingredients, and procedures.
  • Proficient with POS systems, financial reporting, and digital tools (Excel/Google Sheets).
  • Flexible availability: evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours, lift to 45 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Handler Certification and DOH familiarity.
