About The Position

The gorgeous Waldorf Astoria Resort in Maui, Grand Wailea, is looking for a Restaurant General Manager to join the Food & Beverage team! Located on 40 acres of lush tropical gardens, this Forbes 4Star, AAA 4Diamond property is consistently ranked among the world's best resorts with 780 rooms, 100,000 square feet of banquet space, and 7 food and beverage outlets. This includes 3 restaurants, 3 bars, a cafe, and inroom dining. In this role, you will daytoday operations of Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa, managing a team of 3040 Front of House Team Members and reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage. The ideal candidate must be an exceptional leader with a passion for creating extraordinary experiences, a talent for training and developing others, and experienced in all aspects of restaurant operations (ex. financial performance, social media reputation, local market capture, and employee relations). At least 23 years of restaurant management experience in an upscale dining environment is required. Experience managing high volume operations and managing a unionized work environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Create and maintain customer database and partner with Sales and Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategy
  • Maximize efficiency technology system(s) (i.e. Open Table)
  • Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • Initiate and implement upselling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue, including, but not limited to, creating new menus and crossselling products and services hotelwide
  • Recruit, interview and train team members
