About The Position

Terramor Outdoor Resorts is the newest business venture of Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA). KOA is the world’s largest network of privately owned campgrounds and the leader in outdoor hospitality. KOA has 525+ locations across the United States and Canada, including a mix of franchised and company-owned properties. Founded in 1962, the mission of KOA is “connecting people to the outdoors and each other,” and those who represent the brand share the values of being family-oriented, passionate, entrepreneurial, customer-focused, and progressive. Terramor Outdoor Resorts (Terramor) offers elevated outdoor hospitality. The resort has high-end accommodations of canvas and hard-sided tents, a lodge with food and beverage, onsite nature trails and a pool and hot tub. Currently, there is one open and operating Terramor located in Bar Harbor, Maine, however KOA is building multiple new resorts across North America. The Restaurant Manager will provide oversight and management to the Food & Beverage outlets throughout the property. They will provide training, manage inventory and ordering, and adhere to the service and quality standards of all staff to ensure excellent service. The Restaurant Manager will assist with the creation of menu items and pricing by understanding guest needs and product availability while maximizing profitability.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years F&B and/or supervisory experience
  • Hear and speak the English language fluently
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and maintain a budget
  • Knowledge of various restaurant equipment
  • Knowledge of computer and cash register operation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Ability to lead and serve as a role model
  • Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and be able to work with little or no supervision
  • Maintain current food handler certification with ability to train staff
  • Basic knowledge of local and state alcohol beverage laws
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, lift and carry 25 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds regularly
  • Long periods of standing during season (90%)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb
  • Requires the use of hands/fingers to handle and feel
  • Able to work both inside and outdoors frequently in various climates
  • Capable of moving safely over uneven terrain

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an efficient schedule for all F+B positions according to the resort payroll budget.
  • Be responsible for training and onboarding new F+B team members on resort systems and procedures.
  • Ensure staff works together as a team to ensure optimum service that meets guest needs.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of guests and staff.
  • Promptly and professionally handle guest concerns/complaints and communicate problems to General Manager.
  • Obtain certifications to meet all county, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Assess and maintain proper inventory levels and turnover rate through an inventory control system as directed by the General Manager.
  • Conduct a monthly inventory on the last day of each month and provide General Manager with an accurate inventory report and purchase price sheet.
  • Achieve the planned sales budget, without exceeding operations, payroll, and various expense budgets.
  • Ensure proper cash controls by following specific Terramor cash and credit card handling procedures.
  • Assist with banquets and special F+B requests, including menu creation, BEOs, set-up, ordering, and scheduling staff.
