About The Position

The Restaurant Barback plays a crucial support role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bar within a restaurant setting. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, restocking supplies, and assisting bartenders by preparing garnishes and glassware. The barback helps create a welcoming and efficient environment that allows bartenders to focus on delivering excellent customer service and crafting quality beverages. By anticipating the needs of the bar staff and responding promptly, the barback contributes significantly to the overall guest experience. This role requires a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Requirements

• Legal age to serve alcohol in the United States.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy boxes and kegs.
• Basic understanding of bar operations and beverage service.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in a bar or restaurant environment.
• Knowledge of different types of alcoholic beverages and bar equipment.
• Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol).
• Ability to multitask effectively during busy service periods.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.

Responsibilities

• Restock bar inventory including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes to ensure continuous service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of trash.
• Assist bartenders by preparing garnishes, setting up bar stations, and retrieving supplies as needed during service.
• Monitor and replenish ice supplies to ensure bartenders have adequate resources throughout shifts.
• Collaborate with the bar and restaurant team to ensure timely and efficient service to guests.
