About the position

Pacific Hospitality Group is seeking a dedicated team member to join our restaurant staff. The position involves welcoming and greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Responsibilities include taking accurate orders, making food recommendations, and maintaining the overall look and flow of the dining area. The role requires adherence to food handling and sanitation guidelines, as well as effective communication with kitchen staff to ensure timely service. This position is essential in creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests upon arrival and directs/escorts them to their table.
  • Provides guests with menus and general information about the restaurant and meal options.
  • Helps guests select food and beverage offerings by explaining house specialties.
  • Inspects tables for proper presentation and completion.
  • Checks in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverages.
  • Continuously cleans and maintains work areas according to department standards.
  • Follows all standard food handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
  • Keeps kitchen staff informed about meal progression.
  • Maintains buffet selection and informs kitchen of needs to replace items.
  • Enters guests' orders and payments into the POS system accurately.
  • Reports potential safety issues and follows safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Prior customer service and cash handling experience desired.
  • Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to learn and use telephone and computer systems utilized by the hotel.
  • Completion of required training as scheduled.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and hotel service standards.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain an even temperament.

  • State of Louisiana responsible vendor permit.
  • ServSafe certification.
  • Banquet/Bar experience.
