About The Position

As a member of the Pacific Hospitality Group, you will maintain warm, hospitable guest relations in all guest contact. Your responsibilities will include responding to individual guest needs, greeting guests enthusiastically, answering questions about menu items, and communicating selections to the culinary and beverage teams. You will monitor guests to fulfill additional requests, compute bills, collect payments, and inform guests of hotel services and amenities. You will also handle guest complaints and requests in a courteous manner, complete assignments professionally, and maintain equipment used in your work. The role requires you to protect guest safety, adapt to high-pressure conditions, and conduct yourself professionally at all times.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Good mathematical and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to accurately use various Microsoft Office and PMS software.
  • Ability to actively listen to others.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced position with constant guest interaction.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 20 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body.
  • Ability to be a team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Food Handler's Card or able to obtain.
  • Knowledge of all hotel departments and events.
  • High school education and relevant training and experience required. Additional education preferred.
  • Knowledge of the local area required.
  • CPR and first aid training preferred.
  • Additional language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain warm, hospitable guest relations in all guest contact.
  • Respond to individual guest needs as they occur.
  • Greet all guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner.
  • Answer questions and make suggestions regarding menu item selections, preparations of items, and cocktail and wine recommendations.
  • Communicate menu selections to the culinary and beverage teams.
  • Monitor guests to fulfill any additional requests and determine when the meal experience is at an end and the guests are ready for their bill.
  • Compute bill, collect payment, and make change for guests as needed.
  • Respond to all guest requests and inform guests of hotel services, features, room amenities, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
  • Ask for and confirm any future dining reservations.
  • Respond to and resolve all guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Thoroughly complete projects and assignments professionally with care.
  • Report all items in need of repair to supervisor and maintain equipment used in work.
  • Protect guest safety and well-being.
  • Adjust to high pressure conditions and be open to change.
  • Assume responsibility for personal growth and development.
  • Conduct oneself professionally at all times; set standards for all.
  • Express ideas and convey information clearly, effectively, and professionally.
  • Work to resolve disagreements and be respectful of peers and co-workers.
  • Scrupulously follow all Ko'a Kea Hotel & Resort policies and procedures.
