About The Position

The position involves welcoming and warmly greeting guests upon their arrival at the restaurant. The individual will be responsible for answering the telephone, taking reservations, and managing the efficient and timely seating of guests to tables that best serve their wishes. The role requires a commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience.

Requirements

  • Prior customer service and cash handling experience desired.
  • Ability to serve the needs of guests through verbal face-to-face interactions, demonstrating a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to high guest satisfaction.
  • Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to learn and use telephone and computer systems used at the hotel.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid current Food Handler's Card or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of applicable health standards.

Responsibilities

  • Greets guests upon arrival and seats them at their table, providing them with a menu and general information about the restaurant and meal options.
  • Prepares and maintains a list of guests waiting to be seated, recording guest names and party sizes, and providing estimates of waiting times.
  • Notifies parties when tables become available and accommodates special seating requests while balancing customer flow.
  • Inspects tables for proper presentation and completeness, notifying servers of any missing items.
  • Checks in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food courses and beverages, thanking them as they depart and inviting them to return.
  • Cleans work areas and waiting areas according to department standards.
  • Follows all standard food handling, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
  • Reports to work as scheduled and on time.
