About the position

Pacific Hospitality Group is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a bartender. In this role, you will be responsible for curating craft cocktails and beverages to guest specifications, ensuring a memorable experience for all patrons. You will describe bar items, methods of preparation, and prices as needed, while demonstrating extensive knowledge of all bar and menu items. Your responsibilities will include proper shaking, mixing, and stirring techniques, as well as accommodating special requests and dietary needs from guests. You will also utilize suggestive selling techniques to maximize food and beverage revenues, serve menu items promptly and courteously, and perform pre- and post-shift side work. Additionally, you will handle cash, balance the bank at the end of each shift, and ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Curates craft cocktails and/or beverages to guest specifications
  • Describes all bar items; methods of preparation and prices as needed
  • Demonstrates proper shaking, mixing, and stirring techniques using required tools
  • Provides extensive knowledge of the surrounding area, events, and directions to enhance guest experience
  • Accommodates special requests and dietary needs from guests
  • Utilizes suggestive selling on established menu items or specials
  • Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Performs pre- and post-shift side work; set-up, breakdown, condiments, roll-ups etc.
  • Responds to guest inquiries and special requests promptly
  • Handles cash and balances bank at the end of each shift
  • Serves guests at assigned station quickly and courteously
  • Observes guests to fulfill additional requests and completes assigned side work
  • Cleans away service and accessories after events
  • Follows all standard food handling, TIPS, Title IV, sanitation, and health department guidelines

Requirements

  • Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service standards
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Ability to work on AM, PM, weekend, and holiday shifts as required

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience within a hotel/resort environment
  • A valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness to obtain one within 30 days
  • Responsible Beverage Certified (TiPS) (Title IV)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to serve needs of guests through verbal face-to-face interaction
