About The Position

Receives direction from the Compliance Manager-Facilities Management. Works with Facilities Management staff on preparing plans, laying out and supervising the installation, repair and maintenance of heating, ventilating, gas piping, or air conditioning plants, equipment, or systems as outlined in Rochester Building Code. May take direction from other Mayo Facilities Management Leadership and department engineering staff. Performs all duties following Mayo Clinic safety procedures. Individual will hold a Master Installer’s License in each of the four separate work classifications (Warm-air Heating and Ventilation Systems, Hot Water and Low Pressure Steam Heating Systems [including geothermal and solar], Refrigeration and Air Cooling Systems, and Fuel-gas Piping Systems; Factory-built Fireplaces, Stoves, and Chimneys is an optional license) with the City of Rochester Building Safety Department. This individual will be the Responsible Mechanical Master Installer for Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN Facilities Management. Must have extensive knowledge of the Rochester Code of Ordinances, Chapter 4-3. – Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Code and become fluent with Mayo Clinic Construction Specifications. Responsible for the oversight and permitting of mechanical/HVAC maintenance installations performed by Mayo Clinic Facilities Management staff. Requests permits from the City of Rochester as required for mechanical/HVAC installations by Mayo Clinic staff. Schedule and attend mechanical/HVAC inspections for work performed by Mayo Clinic staff. Responsible for providing required documentation for mechanical/HVAC maintenance installations/equipment. Provides training to employees, serves as a mentor and resource on Minnesota Plumbing Code, mechanical/HVAC methods, and code changes/updates. Assists in the hiring of mechanical/HVAC maintenance staff. Monitor and inspect mechanical/HVAC maintenance work, use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and keep needed documentation. Assists Mechanical System Engineers with system design. Works collaboratively with other departments across the Institution. Organizational skills, leadership skills, and independent performance are required. Travel to Minnesota Mayo Clinic locations may be required for this position.

Requirements
