About The Position

The Respondent Resource Specialist at the University of Washington plays a crucial role in supporting students identified as respondents in Title IX and non-Title IX related conduct matters. This position involves coordinating the development and implementation of a tri-campus Respondent Resource Program, providing direct support services, and advocating for students throughout the conduct process. The specialist will work closely with campus partners to ensure a safe and inclusive environment conducive to student success, while also engaging in program development and outreach efforts.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Student Affairs, Social Work, Counseling, or related field plus one year post-graduate experience in a student conduct setting serving as a student conduct officer.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Social Work, Counseling, or related field plus three years of post-graduate experience in a student conduct setting serving as a student conduct officer.
  • Knowledge of Title IX, Clery Act, VAWA, and other applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Understanding of trends in the field of student conduct and knowledge of student development theory and its application to student conduct administration.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work both independently and cooperatively within the department.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous service on a Behavioral Intervention Team.
  • Experience developing and presenting marketing and outreach materials to campus partners.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and overall success of the tri-campus Respondent Resource Program.
  • Provide direct support services and process advocacy to students identified as respondents in Title IX and non-Title IX related conduct matters.
  • Identify, train, and coach a diverse group of professionals across each campus to serve as Respondent Resource on an as-needed basis.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with campus partners/staff to stay updated on available resources for students.
  • Develop educational outreach and marketing related to the Respondent Resource Program.
  • Partner with UW-Bothell and UW-Tacoma staff to support the Respondent Resource Program at all three campuses.
  • Participate in student conduct proceedings and aid students in preparation of relevant documentation as requested by respondents.
  • Adjudicate student conduct matters for low-level behavioral and academic misconduct during high case volume periods for CSSC.
