About The Position

The Respite/Recreation Direct Support Professional will report to the Program Leader. The Respite/Recreation DSP will be responsible to assist in the development and implementation of all Respite/Recreation activities as well as provide direct support assistance including ADL's and direct support to all recreation participants. The shift available at this location (Queens village and Garden City) is: 16 hours per week (Saturday & Sunday 9:00am-5:00pm). You must have have a valid driver's license and a HS diploma/GED to be considered for this position. Some experience with the IDD population is preferred but not required. Provide direct support to individuals attending programs while at recreation outings. Provide direct support with ADL's and feeding for people who require assistance. Provide ongoing communication with families regarding transportation, participation in activities and program updates.
