Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible. RESPITE PROVIDER NEEDED - Menomonie, WI Pay: $17.66/hour We are seeking an energetic, compassionate Respite Provider to work 1:1 with a young elementary-aged boy with autism. Care will take place in the child's home and nearby parks. He is mostly non-verbal, sensory-seeking, and thrives with routine and physical activity. Schedule: 6 hours/week, Saturdays & Sundays (11am-4pm preferred)
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- 2-3 references
- Pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Energetic, patient, reliable, and physically able to keep up with an active child
- Experienced with autism or developmental differences
- Calm and confident in managing behaviors
- Creative in engaging the child and redirecting attention
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 supervision and care in home and community
- Support sensory and play-based activities (trampoline, swings, balls, music, TV)
- Encourage communication via signs, gestures, and communication pad
- Assist with basic personal care (pull-up/restroom)
- Ensure safety, especially with elopement and outdoor play
