About The Position

Join Our Team as a Respite Companion! Are you passionate about the senior population and making a real difference in their lives? EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a part time Respite Companion to join the Respite Companion program. Salary: $16/ hour Schedule: up to 6 hours per week Location: Garden City, NY Reports to: Program Coordinator What drives the core purpose of this job: To provide "time off" for the caregiver of a home-bound elderly person.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate appropriately with elderly individuals.

Responsibilities

• Participate in orientation and in-service workshops.
• Provide supervision and companionship on an individual basis to elderly persons.
• Assist care recipient with everyday routines such as eating, walking and light exercise.
• Submit records and time sheets on a timely basis.
• Report any problems which affect service to the Sr. Director or Program Coordinator.
