Shift As Needed Scheduled Weekly Hours 0.4 POSITION PURPOSE: A Respiratory Care Trainee develops competency in and performs the basics of Respiratory Care and associated interventions under direct supervision of a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Certification as either a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required within 90 days of graduation of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Basic computer literacy - use of computer and computer software applications required.
- Current CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient therapy assessments.
- Performs respiratory therapy modalities as ordered by the physician.
- Performs integral role as a member of the Code Blue Team.
- Provides education to patients and family.
- Cleans and maintains respiratory equipment and supplies as necessary.
- Performs artificial airway maintenance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
