About The Position

Respiratory Therapy Supervisor Full Time Responsible for supervision of the Respiratory Therapists. Actively participates in the assessing, planning, organizing and evaluation of the education, needs, and regulatory requirements. Acts as a technical resource as well as an advocate for physicians, staff and patients. Fulfills the needs of the patients, families, and community by performing a variety of routine and intensive therapy, diagnostic procedures, and patient assessments in accordance with his/her licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. Maintains and stocks respiratory equipment. Ensures ventilator and life support equipment are operable during assigned shift through calibration routines checks.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved two-year respiratory therapist program.
  • A minimum of 3-year full-time experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting; previous Lead RT experience preferred
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
  • Must be able to identify and competently address the needs of the population served.
  • Licensed by the State of Florida.
  • Licensed as a RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist and certified by NBRC.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS required.

  • previous Lead RT experience preferred
