Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy, with certification from the National Board of Respiratory Therapy Care.
  • Three years of Respiratory Therapy experience required.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure and calculate figures and amounts, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and exercise sound technical judgment and appropriate assessment skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Respiratory Therapy team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient care.
  • Promote and model evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Conduct regular patient care rounding to assess clinical needs and environmental safety.
  • Participate in direct patient care when necessary, maintaining clinical competency.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to support quality improvement and infection prevention initiatives.
  • Serve as the clinical lead for the Respiratory team, supporting the department to administer specified respiratory treatments, medications, life support, and diagnostic examination for diagnoses of cardiovascular ailments.
