About The Position

The position is within the Respiratory Therapy department at Ascension St. John Medical Center, located in Tulsa, OK. The schedule is PRN (as needed) during nights. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, with a preference for 2nd year students.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Provisional Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Education: High school diploma equivalency OR Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline required.

Responsibilities

• Provides evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies consistent with student scope of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments based on patient outcomes, under appropriate supervision.
• Deliver and assess patient response to ordered therapy.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Provide patient education for diseases, medications, and treatment.
