About The Position

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Casual Respiratory Therapy Extern for our Respiratory Department. The respiratory therapy extern shall work under the supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist certified or registered. The licensed therapists shall be present in the facility, but direct observational supervision is not required. The licensed respiratory therapists must be readily available in the event of an emergent need and act as a source of reference for the respiratory extern.

Requirements

• 1 year and /or a minimum of 35 semester hours in an accredited respiratory care program.
• Verbal ability required to communicate with patients and understand instructions received from staff, manual dexterity required to use hands easily and skillfully.
• BLS required.
• Is licensed by the West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care with a student permit.
