About The Position

Three Rivers Healthcare Center a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies is currently recruiting for the key position of Respiratory Therapy Director. Full Time 1st Shift Position Available (107 bed skilled nursing home facility) you will be overseeing all the residents for a Trach unit at the facility " The position of Respiratory Therapy Director exists to provide direction to the respiratory staff and department ensuring efficient, quality-oriented patient care is provided within the scope of the department’s policy/procedure manual. The Director of Respiratory Services monitors activities such as equipment maintenance, changes, inventory, etc. As a CommuniCare employee you will enjoy a competitive salary and PTO plans. Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved program for Respiratory Therapy.
  • 5 years prior experience
  • Must hold RRT credential and possess and unencumbered license.
  • Three years of previous management experience preferably within an acute care hospital.
  • Minimum of one year critical care and/or artificial airway and ventilator care experience.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to identify and implement components of the respiratory therapy process
  • Identify learning needs and teach patients and families
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of teams and individuals
  • Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (Word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Direct, implement, and control the respiratory therapy services departments through effective personnel management, delivery and monitoring of therapeutic patient care practices, developing and revising department policies and procedures, participating in ongoing quality and safety initiatives.
  • Responsible for annual budget preparation and monitoring, securing needed equipment, and preparing and maintaining statistical data and reports as needed.
  • Complete initial assessments, deliver respiratory care in accordance with the goals and objectives of the plan of care and physician orders.
  • Actively participate in the interdisciplinary team process and provide accurate reports of patient status according to established policies and procedures.
  • Deliver care with consideration of developmental life stage of patient.
  • Consistently complete timely, concise, and accurate documentation of assessments, progress notes, discharge summaries, and daily intervention notes for each treatment or service provided.
  • Share all information with team; attend team meetings, rounds, or patient conferences as directed.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment at bedside and storage areas to ensure resources are available; complete equipment calibration and quality control procedures as established; participate in equipment maintenance, dis-infection, and sterilization of all respiratory equipment.
  • Provide patient, family, and staff education as appropriate.
  • Remain current with literature and education related to departments for which responsible and maintain an updated methodology, tools, manuals, and criteria as necessary and appropriate.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and conform to them.
  • Complete electronic PPR (periodic performance review) annually, complete plans of correction as identified in PPR , and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Practice excellent communication and interpersonal skills through listening, sharing information, demonstrating respect for co-workers and patients and family members, and actively practice patient confidentiality.
  • Positively promote company and team initiative, and demonstrate professional behavior in all interactions.
  • Ensure the implementation, compliance, and monitoring of the Infection Control Program following all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
