About The Position

This position is for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) who will provide respiratory care, including ventilator care, to patients at the hospital. The role requires staying current with evidence-based treatment strategies and following the hospital's ventilator policies and procedures. The therapist will document care in the electronic health record and maintain a safe physical environment for both patients and employees. Confidentiality of patient information is paramount, and the therapist will also participate in annual reviews and departmental in-services as scheduled. Active participation in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities is expected, along with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of respiratory therapy
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered by the State of Minnesota (CRT)
• Two years of critical care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory care, including ventilator care, to patients at the hospital.
• Stays current with evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Follows OMC ventilator policies and procedures.
• Documents care in the electronic health record.
• Maintains a safe physical environment for patients and employees.
• Always maintains patient confidentiality.
• Attends annual review and departmental in-services as scheduled.
• Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
