About The Position

A respiratory therapist provides assessment, treatment, and monitoring of cardiopulmonary disease across the continuum of care. A respiratory therapist functions as part of an interdisciplinary team that coordinates and provides continuity of care in a financially responsible manner. A respiratory therapist is able to quickly and accurately assess a patient's condition and communicates effectively to the care team concerning changes in patient's condition, results of diagnostic studies, symptomatology, and response to treatment. Experienced and New Graduates are invited to apply.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
  • National Board for Respiratory Care entry level certification (CRT) prior to first day of employment
  • Valid permission (permanent or temporary permit) to practice with the licensing board in the state of hire prior to first day of employment
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential is required upon hire or by the end of one year of employment and must be maintained throughout employment
  • Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire or within 90 days from date of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent determined by site is required upon hire or within 6 months from date of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) where applicable
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Function with initiative and independent judgment
  • Desire for continuous quality improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or healthcare related field
  • Previous hospital experience
  • Additional NBRC specialty credentials
