About The Position

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist, Certified or Registered (CRT) (RRT), internally referred to as our Respiratory Care Practitioner, at St. Mary's Medical Center (SMMC), a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Respiratory Therapist (RT) you will, under the direction and authorization of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director/Manager, perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Requirements

state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current
PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

2 years experience as an RCP
NRP certified
Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree

Responsibilities

performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician
emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient
in the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as team lead, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift
evaluation, diagnosis, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary problems
such patients include those with emphysema, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, cardiac failure, and chest trauma
