About The Position

The RCP I performs respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. This role emphasizes the assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of patient care, taking into consideration age-specific and population-specific needs. The current compensation range for this role is $32.75 per hour to $47.01 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.

Requirements

  • State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
  • PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree required. If there is no Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree, a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years? experience as a RCP preferred.
  • NRP certificate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform respiratory therapeutic procedures, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, airway management, and mechanical ventilation as prescribed.
  • Conduct pulmonary diagnostic procedures, such as pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas collection, and spirometry.
  • Assess patient respiratory status and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Implement physician orders and ensure timely delivery of respiratory care interventions.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and thoroughly in the medical record.
  • Monitor and adjust respiratory equipment, ensuring proper function and patient safety.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients and families regarding respiratory care and treatment plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of current respiratory care practices and participate in continuing education.
  • Serve as Lead RCP in the absence of a supervisor, overseeing department operations and coordinating staff workflow.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance improvement activities.
