About The Position

Mid-Cities Medical is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business specializing in providing and maintaining in-home respiratory therapy equipment for Veterans. Every effort is made to deliver World-Class Service in delivering government-approved lines of ventilators, portable and stationary oxygen concentrators and supplies to veterans and their caregivers throughout Texas, Arizona, and Southern California. Mid-Cities is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, detail oriented, and compassionate individual to join our team. The Respiratory Therapist will deliver respiratory therapy equipment, provide patient education and training on proper use and safety, and perform required monthly ventilator checks. This position does not include providing clinical respiratory care services; the role focuses exclusively on equipment delivery, education, and ongoing support to ensure patient confidence and compliance. The Respiratory Therapist operates independently to schedule and complete monthly visits, offering maximum flexibility and an ideal opportunity to supplement other full-time employment. Patient load is flexible and can be adjusted based on the therapist’s available time and schedule.

Requirements

  • Must be service oriented with a desire to help people.
  • Excellent time management skills will be critical in your ability to be successful in this role
  • Use of basic office equipment and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrates and maintains a working knowledge of current products and services provided by Mid Cities Medical including, oxygen therapy modalities, tracheostomy care and supplies, aerosol therapy, suction, noninvasive ventilation, and invasive ventilation.
  • Active listening, verbal and electronic communication skills are required.
  • Ability to maintain good work habits, adhere to dress code and arrive to work on time.
  • Completion of an accredited program with a degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • RRT credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Licensed RRT or CRT in the state of practice
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association
  • Current Driver’s License in the state of employment

Responsibilities

  • Provides set up and instruction to Veteran patients and or caregivers on the proper use of all Respiratory DME Equipment, including but not limited to oxygen delivery systems, Aerosol delivery systems, suction, and both invasive and noninvasive ventilation.
  • Ensures Veteran patients and caregivers can effectively operate and maintain equipment provided by Mid Cities Medical.
  • Responsible for scheduling and completing routine in-home follow-up visits.
  • Consistently reviews Veteran patients’ therapy settings to ensure accuracy and compliance with physicians’ prescriptions.
  • Safeguards Veteran patients’ protected health information and adheres to all HIPPA privacy regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot respiratory equipment and effectively communicate resolution remotely.
  • Assists with creating and maintaining policies and procedures to comply with Mid-Cities Medical’s company’s policies, Joint Commission Standards, and VA Patient Safety guidelines
