About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist works under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Coordinator and/or Manger/Director, and assists physicians in the treatment of patients with conditions affecting the cardiopulmonary system. This includes patient testing, teaching, assessment, ventilator management and delivery of therapy. Functions as part of the Code Blue team assuming responsibility for airway management. Also provides technical assistance to non-registered Respiratory Care staff.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience required
• RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist Within 6 Months Of Hire
• BLS Basic Life Support (or complete training during orientation period)
• Education: Secondary and some post-secondary
• Graduate of an approved program in Respiratory Care
• Licensure: RCP Respiratory Care Practitioner State of Missouri
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills are required to evaluate patient reactions to all forms of respiratory therapy, recommend corresponding treatment plans and interact with patients, physicians and nursing staff
