About The Position

Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Chicago, IL | Sign-On Bonus + Relocation Assistance Salary Range: $1,332 – $1,792.80 per week (base gross), based on a 36-hour (3x12-hour) schedule; equivalent to $37.00 – $49.80 per hour. Department: Cardiopulmonary / Respiratory Therapy Job Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt Location: Chicago Metro Area, Illinois The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) / Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations. This is a full-time opportunity in Chicago – big-city lifestyle, strong healthcare market, no car required, lakefront living. Requirements

  • RRT certification (NBRC)
  • Active State RCP License or ability to obtain Illinois licensure prior to start
  • BLS (AHA) upon hire
  • ACLS and PALS within 60 days of hire
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • 2+ years of RCP experience
  • NRP certification

Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management)
  • Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
  • Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs)
  • Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans
  • Document care in the EMR
  • Respond to code blue and rapid response events
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
  • May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts
