About The Position

MHM Solutions, a Centurion Health company, is proud to be the provider of healthcare staffing solutions to state agencies within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking a full time Respiratory Therapist to join our team at State Center Ebensburg located in Ebensburg, PA. Monday - Friday day shift $40Per hour + Medical, Dental and Vision Will provide care for clients with heart and lung problems including treatment for asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, sleep apnea, trach care, nebulizers, chest physiotherapy. Examine individuals with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorder. Consult with physicians to develop treatment plans. Perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity. Treat clients, using a variety of methods, including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications. Recommend proper positions. Monitor and record the progress of treatment. Teach staff and/or clients how to use treatments. Teach staff for signs and symptoms of respiratory distress, aspiration pneumonia and pneumonia. Patient Assessment: Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating respiratory problems through lung function tests, blood gas analysis, and physical exams. Required • Equipment Operation: Proficiently using mechanical ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, aerosol medications, and bronchopulmonary drainage devices. Required • Emergency Response: Acting quickly in critical situations, such as, performing endotracheal intubation,and providing neonatal or adult resuscitation Required • Physiological Knowledge: Deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, specifically regarding the respiratory system. Required • Therapeutic Care: Administering inhaled medications and managing pulmonary care protocols. Required

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or bachelor’s degree from an AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program required
  • Credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Crequired
  • Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice required
  • Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
  • Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a hospital or outpatient setting required
  • Knowledge of practices, standards, techniques, and tools/equipment applicable to basic and advanced respiratory patient care, including critical care, oxygen therapy, home ventilator management, chest physiotherapy, spirometry, aerosol therapy, EKGs, arterial blood gas analysis, patient assessment, and airway management
