Compensation: $37.54-51.00 (depending on experience) with night and weekend differential

Requirements

  • Unencumbered National Board of Respiratory Care Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapy Credential
  • Respiratory Therapist licensure, Oregon Health Authority
  • BLS, ACLS required and NRP and PALS preferred
  • Dedication to good interpersonal communication skills with co-workers and patients.
  • Perform tactfully and effectively with physicians and other hospital employees.
  • Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and their families.
  • Skilled at setting priorities and maintaining a calm demeanor while working in a fast-paced atmosphere of conflicting demands.
  • Self-motivated and willing to accept a variety of patient care assignments.
  • Possess a broad range of skills, including assessment, communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
  • Can work variable hours, days or nights.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments to deliver targeted inhalant treatments.
  • Administer medical gases including oxygen, heliox, and nitric oxide while monitoring patients.
  • Manage Mechanical ventilation and monitor patients using BiPAP and CPAP.
  • Perform and instruct patients in Chest physical therapies to improve airway clearance and lung function.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing, including pulmonary function tests (PFTs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analysis.
  • Fit and instruct patients on the use of Holter and Event monitors for continuous cardiac monitoring.
  • Provide essential respiratory support as part of the C-Section and Trauma teams during emergency situations.
