Beaver Ave.) Job Purpose The Respiratory Therapist provides evaluation and care for our patients with respiratory insufficiencies and complexities. This position assesses the patient care needs, develops a plan for treatment, implements and monitors the patient’s progress based on the desired outcomes to maximize the potential of each patient. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for children (ages 0-21) and is the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma. Our CARF accredited multidisciplinary team works with patients and their families to maximize the patient’s physical and cognitive potential, and ensure the family has the training and resources needed for a smooth transition from hospital to home. In 2021, the hospital received accreditation from The Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), the nation’s original independent accreditation program recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be graduate of a Respiratory Therapy Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensed by the Oklahoma Medical Board.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional letter will be accepted until license is issued.
• Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire).
• AND Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (Must be willing to and obtain Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credentials within 1 year of hire).

• 1+ year pediatric healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides Respiratory Therapy Services to BCHC patient population 50%
• Acts as a student and new hire preceptor, as directed by supervisor 10%
• Communicates effectively to all interdisciplinary team members 10%
• Advocates the patient’s respiratory related needs to the healthcare provider 10%
• Documents all therapies provided, efficiently 15%
• Other duties as assigned 5%
