As a new Full-Time Respiratory Therapist at Southwest Health System, your day-to-day expectations will revolve around delivering exceptional patient care with empathy and professionalism. You will conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with respiratory issues, ensuring they receive tailored therapies. Collaborating with healthcare teams, you will participate in patient rounds, providing insights and updates on respiratory conditions. You’ll also be responsible for administering life-saving treatments, including oxygen therapy and nebulizers, while monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as necessary. Additionally, you will educate patients and their families on respiratory health and wellness, empowering them to manage their conditions effectively. Your role will involve operating and maintaining advanced respiratory equipment and adhering to strict safety protocols to ensure a safe environment. Flexibility in your schedule may be required, as you will engage with patients from diverse backgrounds, making each day rewarding and impactful.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current PALS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services preferred.
