As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team dedicated to delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. Your role will involve providing a range of treatments, including breathing techniques, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support. You will apply keen assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs, develop and execute effective care plans, and ensure calm, focused intervention in both routine and emergent situations. Success in this role requires a strong sense of urgency, unwavering calm under pressure, the ability to anticipate outcomes, dedication to patient well-being, and exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Requirements

  • Associates Of Science Graduate of an accredited Associate of Applied Science Degree Program for Certification in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner: AR, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 30 Days

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and evaluates existing data in patient’s record.
  • Collects any additional pertinent clinical information through physical examination and bedside parameters.
  • Performs and evaluates peak flows/Spirometry before and after bronchodilators according to policy and orders.
  • Completes thorough assessment of patients.
  • Communicates all critical information to physicians, nurses, and others on an inter-disciplinary patient care team.
  • Proactive in initiating Ventilator Discontinuation.
  • Follows all policies on documentation, ET tube care, and other Ventilator Bundle guidelines.
  • Recognizes the need for and performs emergency and acute respiratory care procedures accurately and safely in a timely manner with minimal supervisory intervention.
  • May include intubations in an emergency situation according to individual competency.
