Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) Additional Details: we are open to either a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist for this opportunity. Requirements

  • Current state CRT or RRT license
  • Associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Examines and treats patients with breathing-related conditions
  • Performs diagnostic testing
  • Collaborates with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Provides patient education on therapies and medication use
  • Performs physiotherapy and related treatments
  • Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer
  • May perform bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco-cessation education as ordered
  • Delivers ordered respiratory therapies
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and response to treatment
  • Responds to codes and emergent calls
  • Assesses patient condition and provides appropriate interventions
  • Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices
  • Educates patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and community resources
  • Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders
  • Maintains storage areas and equipment readiness
  • Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates respiratory equipment
  • Performs all responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels
  • Participates in performance improvement and required education
