About The Position
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our acute care team in Gainesville. In this role, you will deliver high-quality respiratory care in a modern clinical setting while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team focused on improving patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist; acute care preferred (ICU, CVICU, NICU, PICU, or other critical care units). Home care or long-term care experience will be considered.
- Active Florida Respiratory Therapist License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) through NBRC
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification – must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – must be obtained within 30 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Administer routine and advanced respiratory therapies and manage equipment
- Perform and interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
- Monitor patient responses, medication effects, and adjust care as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about respiratory care and equipment
