About The Position

Location: Pembroke Pines, Florida Patients depend on our team for the best in evidence-based care and innovative therapies, such as inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency oscillation, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support modalities. Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care. Summary: Provides care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Responsibilities: Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition.

Requirements

  • Accredited Program: Respiratory Therapy (Required)
  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (TT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Can be licensed as RT or TT.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Nice To Haves

  • National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential is preferred.
  • Department Specific Credentials: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Pediatric areas Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Adult areas
