The Respiratory Therapist (RT) will be responsible for assessment, treatment and management of all patients across the age spectrum with breathing abnormalities or imparities. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills, work well in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as the ability to work independently. Requirements

  • Education: RRT
  • Experience: New graduates and experienced therapists
  • Licensure: Active New York Respiratory Therapist License
  • Certifications BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP

Responsibilities

  • Performs all respiratory therapy duties in all patient care areas.
  • Proficient in mechanical ventilation, NIPPV, patient assessment, tracheostomy care, high flow Oxygen therapy, airway stabilization/maintenance, patient education, ABG acquisition and outpatient respiratory procedures.
  • Quickly responds and communicates with nursing and providers regarding changes in patient condition.
  • Performs timely and accurate documentation
  • Actively participates in patient treatment plan and supports multidisciplinary team rounds.
  • Positive attitude with a patient centered care focus and maintains approachable behavior and acts as a resource to others
