Requirements
- Previous experience performing pulmonary function testing.
- National Board of Respiratory Care Certification/Registration in Pulmonary Function Testing (CPFT or RPFT) or obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Experience with computer systems, including Microsoft office Word, Outlook, Excel, Power point.
- Graduate of A.M.A. approved certification program for Respiratory Therapy.
- Two-year program with an Associate Degree in Respiratory Care.
- Massachusetts License.
- National Board Certification.
- CRT or RRT.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required
Nice To Haves
- NPR certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain operation of PFT lab, including performance of pulmonary function testing on patients, appropriate scheduling and registration of outpatients/inpatients referred for testing.
- Maintain standard operating procedures to ensure effective record keeping processes.
- Perform efficient/effective quality control/compliance.
- Adherence to all applicable regulatory agencies: Joint Commission of Allied Health Organization requirements and American Thoracic Society standards.
- Maintain effective communication tools with physician’s offices in order to efficiently receive referrals and process PFT reporting.
- Understanding of PFT equipment/computer operation, calibration, and trouble-shooting problems that may arise.
- Understand appropriateness of test values, statistical methodology and assessment of validity/reliability of test results.
