About The Position

Actively engages with patients providing introduction of self and others involved in patient’s care. Communicates effectively with other staff and family. Assures individual patient needs for all age groups are met through communication and cooperation with Physicians and other members of the Health Care Team. Follows standard orders and protocols to implement the appropriate care for Respiratory/Cardiopulmonary patients. Positively impacts the patient experience at Nevada Regional Medical Center through enhanced clear, respectful, and effective communication skills. Provides accurate documentation of patient information in the electronic medical record. Assists other staff with duties, within scope of practice, in providing essential patient cares as assigned. Conducting patient assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions and reporting of clinical response. Functions as part of the Rapid Response and Code Blue teams assuming responsibility for airway management.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills, customer service skills, problem solving skills with a professional attitude.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills beneficial.
  • Graduate of an approved program in Respiratory Care.
  • Adhere to appropriate Cardiopulmonary Services dress code.
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the State of Missouri.
  • Must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment and remain current.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support within one year of employment and remain current.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of employment and remain current.
  • Basic knowledge of patient testing, education, assessment, non-invasive ventilation, ventilator management and delivery of medical gas and aerosol therapy.
  • Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • One year of recent clinical experience.
