Requirements

  • Associate Degree - Respiratory Therapy
  • 3 Years Experience as Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • 1 Year Experience in Pediatric Critical Care
  • RT license in state of practice
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Responsibilities

  • Administers respiratory care and life support to patients with abnormalities and deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system by prescription and under the supervision of a physician.
  • Orders Obtains physician's order prior to initiating therapy.
  • Patient Assessment Able to appropriately assess all patients before and after therapy is delivered
  • Routine Therapy Sets up all routine therapy modalities according to policy and procedure
  • Ventilator Therapy Able to set up and monitor all life support equipment according to policy and procedure
  • Outpatient Clinic Able to set up and perform EKG's on patients in a timely fashion.
  • POCT Able to perform all POCT including controls, proficiencies and documentation.
  • Maintain all State and Joint Commission requirements for licensing and accreditation
  • The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
