About The Position

Linwood Meadows Care Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a Part-Time / On-Call basis. The primary purpose of this position is to provide respiratory and pulmonary therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct care to residents with pulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality respiratory care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the State of California (if applicable).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Must maintain all required continuing education and licensure in good standing.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to prepare reports and communicate effectively with managers, staff, and physicians.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.
  • Proficiency with office equipment and clinical documentation systems.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, speaking, and hearing.
  • Regular use of office and clinical equipment, including computers and documentation systems.
  • May assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of respiratory experience in an acute or subacute setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow assigned schedules and instructions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform focused patient assessments to identify respiratory care needs.
  • Assess and monitor signs and symptoms indicating physiological and psychosocial changes in condition.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data to identify actual or potential diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement respiratory care plans based on identified priorities and patient care standards.
  • Perform respiratory interventions in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
  • Adhere to emergency preparedness, safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Report changes in respiratory status promptly to the Director/Supervisor of Respiratory Care Services, attending nurse, and physician as needed.
  • Promote effective communication with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for assigned duties.
