About The Position

Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our Fairview Ridges Hospital location in Burnsville, MN. We’re offering a $13,500 sign-on bonus! The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments. Schedule: This position will be working 0.9 FTE (72 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift. This position will also have a 2 out of 6 weekend rotation. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
  • Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) with 3 or more years of respiratory therapist experience in clinical setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire
  • Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Candidates with PFT experience preferred as this role will be tasked with working a minimum of 1 shift in the PFT lab every 2 weeks.
  • PFT lab experience preferred, CPFT preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes.
  • Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care.
  • Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
  • Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment.
  • Working in the PFT lab for a minimum of 1 shift every 2 weeks.
