About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist position at Allegheny Health Network involves providing assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction. The role is essential in administering therapeutic respiratory care, performing diagnostic procedures, and ensuring effective documentation and patient education.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, CRT, or TPP.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required prior to the expiration of the TPP.
• CPR - American Heart Association certification.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Nice To Haves

• Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT, or Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT).
• 1 year experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education.
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
