About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist supports the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) in delivering inpatient and outpatient respiratory therapy services to patients from neonatal to geriatric, under the direction of physicians and administration. In this role, the individual is accountable to deliver established goals, utilizes good judgment to assess and escalate situations when warranted and utilizes knowledge and skills in the area of expertise while maintaining expected quality standards. The individual must act as a healthcare leader by building constructive relationships and by supporting department leadership in developing, setting and executing department goals and the strategic plan in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s mission statement.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree, Diploma, or Certification in a Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Experience working with mechanical ventilation of patients from neonatal to geriatric.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner license awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technician (CPFT) and Registered Pulmonary Function Technician (RPFT) awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care at time of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications awarded by the American Heart Association within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver inpatient and outpatient respiratory therapy services to patients from neonatal to geriatric.

  • Maintain expected quality standards in respiratory therapy services.
  • Build constructive relationships and support department leadership in developing and executing department goals.

  • Level 1 benefit package for positions listed as 30 hours per week or greater.
  • Level 2 benefit package for positions listed as 20 – 29 hours per week.
  • Non-benefited for positions listed as less than 19 hours per week.
